Watching the Opening Ceremony of the Summer Olympics.
Say what you want about China and its policies, but they have some gorgeous ethnic costumes.
The 2008 Drummers was very cool. It's rather hard to remember to smile when you are concentrating as hard as they obviously were.
Remember, this is the Country that gave us Tai Chi and various other martial arts, calligraphy, the Great Wall, the Ming Dynesty, Confucious, paper, printing and so much more.
Yes, we need to remember Darfur. But we also need to remember the Tibetan Monks, the war still going on in Iraq, the major earthquake recently in the Szechaun Peninsula where 70,000 people died and 5 million are not homeless, the numerous other atrocities that are nearly as bad, going on still. It's not all about Darfur. I think people are losing sight of that. Yes, Darfur needs to be held up and pointed out, but so do the other people struggling with losing their identities, their homelands, and their freedoms.
Remember that as you watch the summer Olympics. Judge China not by what it has done in the past, but by what it will do in the future. After all, they've come a long way to get to this point.

Oh, and Budweiser has the best damn commercials. Just barely edging out the Visa Olympic commercials. What can I say, I love me some Clydesdales.}:P
